CONSERVANCY OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

Does not oppose the Corkscrew Farms Zoning approval

“The Conservancy sees this rezone as an opportunity to improve conditions in the DR/GR, especially due to the site’s strategic location in the region… We would like to make it clear that not all development is appropriate for the DR/GR. If Corkscrew Farms’ development plans do not meet our strict criterion for improving environmental integrity of the DR/GR, then the Conservancy would oppose this rezone. However, Corkscrew Farms’ restoration plans appropriately integrate recommendations and restoration strategies from numerous expert studies. Corkscrew Farms plans are focused on regional ecosystem integrity which will provide a benefi t for water resources and wildlife in the DR/GR.”
