On March 22, 2017, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida visited The Place at Corkscrew, Cameratta Companies’ newest residential community on Corkscrew Rd in Estero, FL.
The Place at Corkscrew property consists of approximately 1,360 acres of property that was previously used for agricultural cattle, sod and vegetable farming. Over 750 acres (55% of the property) will be restored into wetlands and uplands and placed into recorded conservation easements.
Designed to be a destination community, The Place boasts 1,325 single-family homes that are uniquely located around large lakes and preserves. The picturesque home sites on larger lots set back from the street with spacious back yards, strolling sidewalks and one-of-a-kind amenities distinguish The Place.
A presentation to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida was held to explain the development entitlement process and restoration plans.
Conservation lands provide innumerable benefits for the environment, economy and Floridian’s quality of life. “We are proud to be a part of the environmental restoration efforts and we are committed to protecting Southwest Florida’s water, land, wildlife and future” said Ray Blacksmith, President of Cameratta Companies.
For more than 50 years, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida has been a leading environmental advocacy organization. Today it has grown to be one of Florida’s largest and most respected environmental organizations. https://www.conservancy.org
